Clearwater Florida Celebrates Holidays in Style
Clearwater Florida – Today was the City of Clearwater’s Annual Clearwater Holiday Parade and also included a downtown Festival from 11:00 am to 4:00pm.
The Parade began at Crest Lake Park and Cleveland Street was closed from Crest Lake down to Coachman Park.
Here’s a shot of the Costco float with my friend, Tim Glenn, getting into the fun. Costco Wholesale located in the Clearwater Mall is a great supporter of the City of Clearwater and our community activities. We are lucky to have them in our community. Bright House is another company that goes above and beyond and today was no exception – they were here in full force.
While it was overcast in Clearwater this morning, it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. When the parade began it was obvious it showcased Clearwater community pride and participation from some of our leading community organizations like out local Boy Scout and Girls Scout troops, High School Bands, all the Clearwater City Commissioners, the Mayor, Frank Hibbard and the City Manager, Bill Horne, clowns, non-profits, leading businesses and more. We enjoyed festive floats from:
- The City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation;
- The City of Clearwater Celebrates Diversity;
- City of Clearwater Float;
- Hooters Restaurant;
- Clearwater Gas System;
- Bright House Network ;
- Costco Wholesale;
- Morton Plant Hospital;
- United States Power Squadron Safe Boating Float
- The Threshers baseball;
- The Boy Scouts – Copperheads;
- Santa Margarita Krewe;
- Univision Tampa;
- Krewe of the Shamrock;
- Crewe of Hernando DeSoto;
- lil Red Wagon Clowns – Largo, Florida;
Here are some of the photos I took – thought you’d enjoy the Holiday fun – The great part about Clearwater is that there are always fun things to do here.
Beads and candy were a plenty for the children along the parade route.
Clearwater is a city that hasn’t lost that local flavor of a good city parade.

There are so many fun activities going on in Clearwater and Pinellas County this holiday season.
Tonight there were several Holiday boat parades in Indian Rocks Beach, Madeira Beach and Tarpon Springs.
We have noticed lots of our Clearwater neighborhoods and our neighbors getting into the Christmas spirit with lots of lights and decorations – seems to be a season where everyone is feeling festive.
Maybe it’s part of the effort to remember it’s December when it’s 82 degrees in Clearwater Florida in December. 🙂
Wishing you time with family and friends to enjoy the upcoming week – can you believe there are just 10 days until Christmas – Are you ready?

Island Estates Florida | Clearwater Waterfront Homes – Real Estate Market Report
Waterfront Living – Here is an update on what’s happening in Island Estates, Florida – Clearwater’s premier deep water waterfront neighborhood. Many people lately have asked me for an update on what’s happening in that neighborhood since we’ve all heard reports of it being a “strong home buyer’s market.”
We’ve included graphs of how long it’s currently taking for Island Estates, Florida homes to sell. When we look at the graph for 2007 it can be a little confusing when you realize that only 1 to 3 Island Estates homes have sold each month this past year – it’s easy to see how a single home could skew the graphs. We all have known homes to be on the market for sale at the “if someone offered me this I would move” price. We also gave you a 2 year view of Island Estates Home Sales to get a feel for what’s happened in the big picture.
We can see that when we were in a strong “home sellers market” homes in Island Estates, Florida were selling in under 30 days in January of 2006.
We have seen the time it takes to sell take longer over this past year. In addition when you are dealing with high end luxury waterfront homes in Clearwater you are marketing to a smaller group of potential buyers.
With a limited number of sales each month buyers need a local Clearwater Beach Real Estate expert to research and analyze the various homes for sale to get up-to-date information so you’re not over-paying for your Clearwater luxury home.
If you are trying to sell your waterfront luxury home in Island Estates pricing it right is the single most important factor in selling in today’s Clearwater Beach real estate market.

Clearwater Real Estate Agent Explains NO Dual Agency
Did you know that fruitcake was a year-round favorite in Europe until a law was passed in the 18th century restricting consumption of fruitcake to just the holiday season.
Well, Florida has struggled with Dual Agency for about as long as Europe struggled with fruitcake, but
Dual Agency is illegal in Florida… :-).
Since it’s the holiday season, and many of you are thinking about buying a condo in Clearwater Beach, Sand Key or Island Estates to get away from the snow and cold. With such an important decision in mind, you should understand your Agency relationship with your real estate agent.
Florida Real Estate Law on Real Estate Representation
Here is the Florida Real Estate Law describing Agency:
Okay, so basically, Dual Agency occurs when any Clearwater beach real estate brokerage performs in a fiduciary capacity to both the buyer and seller of any real estate transaction (Again this is illegal in Florida).
In my opinion, when you come to Clearwater Beach Florida to buy a home or condo (or anywhere in the Tampa Bay area for that matter), most buyers want someone to represent them and not work for both them (the home or condo buyer) and the seller of the property at the same time (Transaction Broker in Florida Law). That way, you can ask the real estate agent you select to act in a fiduciary capacity and fully represent your interests (Single Agent in Florida Law). Make sense?
